Georgina Public Libraries operates under municipal law as provided for in the Ontario provincial legislation Public Libraries Act R.S.O. 1990, CHAPTER P.44.

The board meets regularly and is appointed for the same term as the municipal government. Library Board terms of reference and current minutes are posted at http://www.town.georgina.on.ca/public-library-board.aspx.
