Programs and contests are flying along this May. Read a batty book and win a prize, build a bat box to hang outside, submit a picture of a friend reading Silverwing, get ready for author Kenneth Oppel's appearance in Georgina November 14th. - there is so much more going on- Georgina Goes Batty has its own website listing it all.
Evergreen 2008 Reading Program
May 1st is the beginning of Evergreen 2008. This year there is an interesting list of 10 Canadian books. Copies have been ordered for each branch. Customers can fill out a ballot each time they check out an Evergreen book, so they will qualify for our monthly and grand prizes. A big wrap-up party will be held in October. Lincoln M. Alexander Award 2008
Nominate a young person who has demonstrated exemplary leadership in contributing to the elimination of racial discrimination. The Lincoln M. Alexander Award honours youth who have worked to eliminate racial discrimination in Ontario.
